The Simon's Town Golf Club is the only 9 hole course on the Cape Peninsula.
The golf club was established in 1916, and we are approaching our centenary with great excitement. The course itself is even older, and lies on the site of a former Boer War POW camp.
The course is 4148 metres long (men) and has a rating of 62. We are affiliated to the SAGA and a member of the Western Province Golf Union (WPGU).
This links course is set between the blues and greens of the mountains and the sea. Views of the Hottentots Holland mountain range, across False Bay, makes this setting one of the more spectacular you will play on.
Tight fairways and a couple of small greens, a natural slope towards the sea, a tricky short hole on the 7th/ 16th, and a very testing par 3 15th , ensures that players have to carefully consider every shot. During the early summer months, the south-Easter can provide a refreshing challenge, which has led to many robust recovery sessions on the 19th.
An outing to the Simon's Town Golf Course will reward the player with a golfing experience similar to that of a traditional Scottish links course.
