Smitswinkelbaai Beach is located right next to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. This is a small, very secluded beach which can only be reached on foot. The bay is popular for snorkelling and in season diving and fishing. Apart from a few beach homes you are backed by mountains and you overlook False Bay. The water is usually quite calm and is suitable for swimming. Is it worth the effort getting there? Most definitely. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy your day on a secluded beach. While you are in the area allow time to visit the Cape Point Nature Reserve. There are some wonderful walks and a few more spectacular beaches for you to enjoy. On your way home take a drive the along the coastal road through Scarborough and the Misty Cliffs area to round off another wonderful day in Cape Town.
